Govenor's Harbour, Eleuthera

The Pearl (Jennifer)

Buccaneer and I took 2 car trips to Governor's Harbour.  Our first trip involved a bakery visit, checked out the grocery stores and the town.  We actually got pulled over by the Bahamian police. Deep breath. They were checking for seat belts- $400 dollar fine!  Luckily, we always wear our seat belts (especially when we are driving on the other side of the road, in a foreign country, in an unfamiliar car in pretty interesting condition- we always wear our seat belts).  The harbour is beautiful and Cupid Cay has an interesting history with very old buidlings.

Our second trip was with Hank and Trisha (s/v Adventura).  We joined them for Junior Junkanoo and a movie! The Junkanoo started at 5ish and was still going on when we got out of the movie at 10pm.  The colors, music, customs and vibe were amazing.  As Uncle T says, this was a must to check off the list!  Check.

We had a lovely dinner and then a movie.  There just happens to be a "normal" theatre that shows "real" movies (the movie reel cases had the FBI stickers on them and everything)! We saw Daniel Craig in Bond- very nice indeed.

We had a wonderful time with Hank and Trisha.  From each first mate I learn a little more about food, food storage and making life aboard more comfortable.  Trisha share a few tips with me, including these green produce bags and a recipe for cashew dressing. Yum! The bags are amazing and keep produce fresher longer!  Great Christmas present idea, hint, hint!

I just saw Adventura sail into Black Point- Yah!

More to come!
Love,
Pearl

She's a beauty and a natural!

By the end of the night, the streets were packed!
