At the end of January, we left the Abacos and headed to Eleuthera by way of Current Cut and anchored at Royal Island. Royal provided us all around protection and time with Jay and Imi from Maine. We loved the island. It is mostly uninhabited. The island is private, with a partially finished resort. Looking at the photos it looks complete, but walking around the island tells the tale of grander plans. There are docks, a few beautiful buildings, a few cottages and lots of large parts (floating docks, heating and cooling devices, golf course signs, property for sale signs etc) under watch by local guards. We walked the island, explored, snorkeled and enjoyed a fabulous dinner aboard Kenlanu. Thanks Jay and Imi! Jay and Imi headed to the the Exumas and we are off to Eleuthera!
